Do I Need Planning Permission?

It is best to double check with your local councils planning department what their exact rules are however usually an installation like this is considered a ‘permitted development’ under the laws of planning and so you won’t usually need planning permission to go ahead.

How Long Will They Last?

Do They Need Cleaning?

As long as panels are installed properly (at an angle of 15 degrees) then rain should help dirt and dust to be washed off naturally. If they do get very dirty then power reduction of 10% might occur but this is quite rare.

Can I Install These Panels Myself?

It is possible to buy these panels yourself and look at installing them on your own. However what is important to remember is that you need to use an MCS Accredited installer if you want to take part in any government initiatives. You also often need to have them professionally installed if you want them to be covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.
